Innovative Universities in Music & Arts in Europe - IN.TUNE is the only European University Alliance in the field of music and arts. It brings together eight universities from North, East, South and West Europe striving to deepen their cooperation to bring about institutional transformation and the enhancement of their quality, performance, attractiveness and international competitiveness. New ideas, new creative approaches and new skills: Reflections on the IN.TUNE Blended Intensive Programme “Creating and Producing Immersive Music and Sound for Live Performance”

New ideas, new creative approaches and new skills: from 2 to 8 February 2026, Conservatoire de Paris became a creative hub as the IN.TUNE Blended Intensive Programme “Creating and Producing Immersive Music and Sound for Live Performance” gathered students from across Europe to transform international student teamwork into new approaches in sound and music education. Lea Turon and Jonas Reiter from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) joined fellow students from Paris and The Hague in one of sixteen developing joint educational formats within IN.TUNE. Combining online collaboration with an intensive study visit to Paris, they created original cross-border projects exploring immersive music and spatial sound. In the following text they shared how they experienced international learning, shared expertise and hands-on experience through mobility and teamwork in Paris.

AIRE 2026 Programme Out Now: Explore Research-Based Education in Action

The programme for AIRE 2026 is now available, ahead of the event on 8-9 April at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. As the Annual IN.TUNE Research in Education Event, AIRE brings together teachers, students, and researchers to explore how research, supervision, and teaching practice inform each other across higher music and arts education. This year’s edition, focused on research education and supervision, offers a rich picture of how research-based education is developed and practised across the alliance. With the event taking place next week, we warmly invite you to explore the programme and discover the range of questions, approaches, and practices that will shape this year’s discussions.
