The Annual IN.TUNE Research in Education Event (AIRE) is one of IN.TUNE’s key meeting points for strengthening the links between research and (higher) music and arts education across the alliance. Now in its second edition, AIRE 2026 brings staff and students together to share experience, compare approaches, and build new collaborations that connect research education, supervision, and teaching practice.
AIRE 2026 places the spotlight on research education and supervision. The programme will explore how supervision and research training are organised, experienced, and developed in master’s and PhD programmes across IN.TUNE institutions.
Across the two days, the event will create space to:
Whether you supervise, teach, design research-rich curricula, or are currently studying in a research programme, AIRE 2026 is designed to support open exchange and practical learning.
We are pleased to welcome Kristina Mariager-Anderson (Danish School of Education, Aarhus University) as keynote speaker for AIRE 2026.

musikkhøgskole), Oslo

institutional frameworks enable or constrain research education
- What
“good supervision” looks like from student and staff perspectives
- Ways
of connecting supervision practice with learning outcomes, research
training, and broader educational development
- How
artistic and academic research approaches intersect in supervision and
research education
A detailed programme will be published closer to the event.
AIRE 2026 welcomes participants from across the IN.TUNE alliance and is particularly relevant for:
