IN.TUNE Summit 2026: Three Days of Exchange, Innovation, and Shaping the Future of Music and Arts Education in Europe

From 11 to 13 May 2026, the IN.TUNE Summit will gather the alliance community at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for three days of exchange on the future directions of music and arts education in Europe.

As the alliance’s largest event, the Summit will gather members of the Work Package Committees and Working Groups, the Governing Board, the Alliance Management Team, the Student Council and associated partners. Together, participants will share experiences and achievements from the first half of the project cycle, strengthen connections across the alliance, groups, institutions, and partner organisations, and open a dialogue on its future development and sustainability.

The programme includes:

  • Plenary sessions, including keynote addresses and participatory discussions 
  • Annual and thematic meetings for Work Package Committees, Working Groups, and alliance governing bodies 
  • Cross-group discussions to exchange ideas, reflect, and identify shared priorities across thematic areas 
  • Artistic performances, and 
  • Networking opportunities to connect in an informal setting

Get to Know IN.TUNE: A closer look at the national dissemination event

The Summit will also feature the national dissemination event, “Get to Know IN.TUNE: Innovative Universities in Music and the Arts in Europe”, offering a comprehensive introduction to Europe’s only university alliance dedicated to music and the arts.

Representatives of the alliance will discuss how IN.TUNE is shaping its member institutions and generating new momentum for institutional strategies, pedagogical approaches, and student life.

The programme will include musical performances by students from mdw and the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, one of IN.TUNE’s associated partners. The event will be followed by a culinary and musical evening, providing further opportunities for informal discussion and exchange as part of the Summit.
