ONE YEAR OF IN.TUNE: REFLECTING ON THE ALLIANCE JOURNEY SO FAR

As IN.TUNE enters its second year, we take a moment to reflect on the achievements that have shaped the foundation of the alliance. Bringing together eight leading European universities in music and the arts, IN.TUNE has become a space for innovation, knowledge exchange, and stronger transnational cooperation.

What We Achieved in the First Year

Strengthening Our Governance & Management
A structured governance framework has been established, ensuring smooth collaboration and transparent decision-making.

Mapping the field for Enhanced Mobilities for Students and Staff
A detailed inventory of existing mobility opportunities was created, addressing administrative challenges and outlining next steps for a more streamlined and dynamic exchange process.

Mapping the field for Advancing Digital Learning Environment in Music and Arts
IN.TUNE mapped existing learning management systems and low-latency technologies, paving the way for a unified approach to digital education.

Innovating Educational Formats
A comprehensive analysis of joint educational programmes was conducted, identifying new opportunities for transnational collaboration, including joint online courses, modules, blended intensive programmes and joint programmes.

Expanding Research Collaboration
A comparative study and inventory of research structures, policies, and traditions across partner institutions provided the groundwork for future stronger cooperation through knowledge hubs and research events.

Empowering Educators through Teaching Innovation
The launch of the "Artist as Teacher" course series has helped enhance teaching skills to educate and coach music students in an artistic environment, promote inclusion, and support sustainable careers in academia.

Lifelong Learning & Career Skills Development
We have mapped existing lifelong learning (LLL) programs and offers related to sustainable careers, identified institutional differences, and defined priority areas for new joint courses, focusing on digital skills, inclusive teaching, and music-related health and well-being practices

Enhancing Quality Assurance
IN.TUNE developed a comprehensive Quality Assurance Plan, initiated benchmarking processes, and introduced external examiner exchanges to align artistic and academic standards.

Strengthening Communication & Dissemination
The IN.TUNE Communication and Dissemination Plan was introduced, ensuring effective outreach within the alliance and to external audiences. A distinctive visual identity has been created, dedicated website and social media channels were launched to keep the IN.TUNE community connected.

What’s Next?

These achievements are just the beginning. As we move forward, IN.TUNE will continue to strengthen partnerships, develop new opportunities for students and staff, and implement strategies that will have a lasting impact on music and arts education across Europe.
