Arts meet science in the Community of Practice: IN.TUNE co-leads FOREU4ALL STEAM agenda

IN.TUNE is co-leading the STEAM Topical Group in the FOREU4ALLCommunity of Practice, together with the FilmEU alliance, to advance artistically driven innovation across teaching, research, and policy in European higher education.

What the STEAM group does

STEAM integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics and the group’s mission is to implement a STEAM-driven agenda across European universities—mapping existing approaches, enabling knowledge transfer between alliances, and shaping policy-oriented initiatives at the European level. It brings a distinctive perspective that starts from the Arts and connects into STEM methods and practice.

Why this matters

FOREU4ALL is the community of practice that connects 65 European University alliances and 8 Seal of Excellence alliances through 20 topical groups and some 2,000 experts—a scale that helps good ideas travel fast and stick. IN.TUNE’s co-leadership of STEAM group positions our alliance to help turn proven approaches into shared models for the wider sector.

What to watch for

The STEAM group will focus on:

  • Adoption & scaling of STEAM across alliances and the broader European higher education & research landscapes;
  • Setting up collaborative networks to pilot innovative formats and support structural cooperation that can drive the adoption and piloting of STEAM activities;
  • Sharing practices & resources that empower educators, students, researchers and professional staff;
  • Promotion of joint activities & training to seed new pedagogical innovations and artistic research activities and results.

While participation in the topical group is set, we’ll share milestones, resources and outcomes on IN.TUNE channels so our community — and peers across Europe — can follow and benefit from the work.
